Search results for "conversion tracking"
Google AdWords Adds Two New Alerts
Google AdWords has launched new alerts to help you manage your paid search campaigns. Under the Opportunities Tab, Google has added alerts for keyword and budget ideas. If you're using conversion tracking, you can now set up a custom alert to notify you of changes in conversion volume, conversion rate, and cost per conversion. So far, custom alerts are only available for individual accounts, but Google says they are working on rolling out custom alerts for accounts linked through My Client Center (MCC)....
Google AdWords Updates Conversion Tracking Options
Google AdWords has updated the interface for Conversion Tracking. There are three tabs to manage data: Conversions, Webpages, and Code. Conversions Under this tab, you'll view details about the conversion actions you're tracking. The "Tracking Status" column shows whether those actions are being tracked properly. The "Value" column displays the accumulated value of the conversion actions. This is based on the value you assign to each action. Use the "New Conversion" button to set up the conversion actions to be tracked. These can also be imported from Google Analytics. Webpages Under this tab, you can view which web pages on...
Google View Thru Tracking: Has Big Brother Been Watching
Google announced they are making view-through conversion tracking for banners on the Content Network last Wednesday. So if someone sees your banner on a publisher's site running AdSense and comes to your site within 30 days you can capture the conversion. Ok we know they have always been able to know when the banner runs - it gets called from Google - but to be able to track if the people who saw the ad convert takes the loading of a cookie when the banner loads in the browser. This seems a little intrusive and given Google noted they were...

20 Authors of Business, Marketing, PPC and SEO Books Speaking at SES San Jose
Bring a couple of book bags to Search Engine Strategies San Jose 2009 because there will be more than 20 authors of business, marketing, PPC and SEO books and speaking at the conference. I should disclose that I'm one of them. Now, there are a lot of great conference speakers who haven't written a book -- yet. I should know. I've been speaking at SES conferences since 2003, six years before I wrote a book. And writing a book isn't like Doc Ostrow getting a Krell brain boost in the movie Forbidden Planet (1956). Nevertheless, getting a book published does...
Measuring the Marketing ROI of Attending SES San Jose
If you register to attend SES San Jose 2009 by Friday, July 24, you can save up to $200. But you already knew that. The bigger question that you -- and other Chief Marketing Officers -- are looking to answer is this: How do you measure the return on investment in going to a search engine marketing conference? Now, measuring marketing ROI isn't a hard science. It's more of a social science. But there some reasonable approaches that you can use to figure out the value of attending SES San Jose 2009. Ask yourself this question: Can I afford to...

The conversions could be based on sales, sign-ups, downloads, registrations or the like, depending on advertiser goals. The idea behind the tool is to increase conversions by serving up the best performing ad. If you're tired of going back and forth between AdWords and Analytics to track conversions and goals (or tired of setting up a separate tracking code to integrate), then you're in luck. Now, you can import your Google Analytics Goals into your AdWords account. As a result, you can also integrate your Analytics Goals with Conversion Optimizer. If you're not aware, Conversion Optimizer is a conversion tracking tool. You need to have at least 30 conversions in the last 30 days to use it. The tool recently opened up from its closed beta in January to extend to all eligible...
Did-It Does It Again - Uninformed Controversy As Publicity
It seems that being controversial is a major way to get new business in the Web 3.0 world over at Did-It, if the company's editor-in-chief Steve Baldwin's article about this week's SES conference is any indication. Remember, one of the company's founders, Dave Pasternak's statements about SEO "not being rocket science" and a company that can't get you into the top 5 on Google as worthless. His statements met strong criticism and obviously got the company a lot of attention and links which they most probably redirected to improve their ranking. Hey "not rocket science" but crafty manipulation works. So...
