Small Business Owner Says He Lost $500,000 Due to Click Fraud
Adam Penenberg's Wired article Click Fraud Claims Drive Lawsuits, provides another example of a small business owner who says his company lost big bucks ($500,000) due to click fraud. Penenberg also touches on the Lane's Gifts and Collectibles and Click Defense law suits and then comes down hard on search ad providers:
Don't count on the search engines to confront the problem, though. Sure, they pay lip service to cleaning up click fraud, and issue credits -- not refunds -- to businesses they identify as having been victimized by false clicks. Usually, however, these refunds are a pittance compared to the revenue click fraud generates for them.
