Puzzled by Yahoo's Konfabulator Purchase? Don't Be

Amid the flurry of other recent announcements, Yahoo's recent purchase of Konfabulator maker Pixoria hasn't drawn much attention, but I think it's a brilliant move that will pay off handsomely for the company in very little time. The technology is straightforward: Konfabulator makes a JavaScript run-time engine that allows users to create "Widgets" that perform simple tasks. But these Widgets can serve as addictive, browser-less gateways into Yahoo's vast network of content.
