Looksmart Averages 15 Cents Per Click; Contextual Text Ads Coming
LookSmart's Q2 2005 earnings were released last week and losses were greater than in Q1. Looksmart reported a net loss of $5.4 million on revenue of $10.2 million, down from $12 million in the first quarter. However, average revenues per click were -- excluding run of site -- was 15 cents, up from 14 cents in Q1. The company also said that contextual text ads will soon be available on their vertical sites like FindArticles.com.
