German Search Engines To Self-Regulate Censorship

Google Blogoscoped has an interesting item, German Search Engines Self-regulating, on how major search engines serving Germany are forming a voluntary group to streamline censorship of links they are required by law to remove. There will be a centralized server containing a blacklist of banned URLs. Chances are, those in Germany going to non-German editions of these search engines will still be able to access the "censored" material, however, just as they can now.
