Google Sends Scannable Decals to Local Businesses for Storefront Dislay
Over 100,000 business have been selected as "Favorite Places in Google." Over 9,000 cities and towns in all 50 U.S. states are included. The businesses are being sent decals they can place in their storefront windows. The decals include a barcode, known as a QR code, that can be scanned by smartphones, including iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry.
When the QR code is scanned, it will take the user directly to the business's Place Page on Google Maps. There you can get coupons, read reviews and star it for future reference.
To use it, you'll need an application on your phone that can scan QR codes.

Interesting that it is QR like QS - is this a Quality Rank that by adding reviews, saying if helpful of the reviews, the overt Google offline branding and tying it in to an online method of Quality checking - Google is the way to find a good restaurant from info users create - Move over Zagats et al

Funny, but I had no idea what pile of crap I was stepping into with my post today about QR-Codes and the mark of the beast...
Do people really believe this?

Seems like a disconnect to me to enable a smart phone to give me info about a place when I'm standing in front of it. If I'm a business in that position I'll let my establishment tell the story.
Sounds more like do no evil is sending out the mark of the beast!
