Yahoo! Unveils First Y!ou Ad

Yahoo! begins its new global advertising campaign today and part of that campaign is a new television ad. Check it out:

The ad will air on all major broadcast channels plus major cable networks such as AMC, ESPN, USA, Comedy Central and Bravo.

Advertising seems to be working for Bing, which has steadily gained market share since launch. It will be interesting to see if Yahoo! gains back some search share, despite their advertising campaign focusing on content.

What do you think of Yahoo!'s new ad? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

It sounds and looks like a commercial for a cruise vacation.

I have seen Yahoo!'s new "Anthem" ad.This is a hit or miss for Yahoo. Personally, I'm a fan of simplicity, but I know many consumers are not like me. Their message is simple: your choice, your creativeness,? and they do a great job at expressing that in this ad. However, if it is the winning message is another question.

I think that the new Yahoo website is pretty cool. Will it help them get market share away from Google? I don’t think so. But, that’s not really the point. Yahoo is trying to move itself away from Google. They’re conceding some of the search traffic to Google and focusing on content. They want to give people an “individual Internet experience.” In the era of millions of online portals, I see this latest release as a way to stay relevant.
