Microsoft Offers Vine, Social Media For Important Personal Info

Microsoft announced the beta launch of Vine - a social media platform for personal information sharing. As the site states: "The Microsoft Vine Beta connects you to the people and places you care about most, when it matters."

While it may be in beta as an emergency Twitter like app, the potential for this could eventually become a challenge to Facebook as well as Twitter. It has the potential to set up, through its interface, as a tracking and mapping networking tool that combines elements of both of those programs.

Hey Frank,

Am very new to social media....and now here's one more social media platform on the making.

The feature you have noted down here sounds really interesting....

Thanks for the info

yes, sounds interesting, but difficult to imagine that it will beat twitter. now it is on top and it is growing every day so they will have to invent something really powerful.

Hey Frank,

Thanks for the info. I am so looking for a universal profile id that I can plug into any social network I want without recreating so much content or having to deal with another set of passwords. Is this the goal of Vine, and how well will it play with others.
Look forward to seeing how it goes heading to their site now.....

Great comments. What I got out of watching the video more than anything else is the fact that anyone who has a fairly successful business needs to pay close attention to SM. I've wanted to pretend it's not so important...because its a lot of work....but this video will hopefully get me off my ass this week to get better at SM. Being a consultative sales company, the statement that meant the most to me was "successful companies will act more as party planners, aggregators and content providers than traditional advertisers". So true....but I'm already stressing out about how much work I have in the cue to do the right thing for my business..
