MapQuest Now Optimized for the iPhone

One of the main reasons I own an iPhone is to have access to a map when I'm out and about. The iPhone comes standard with Google Maps, but I find its always good to have a backup map. (Google Maps isn't perfect, but you didn't hear that from me.)

That's why it was good to hear that MapQuest now has an optimized version of its site for the iPhone. Even though the iPhone lets you surf the web, surfing normal pages is still a pain. Whenever a site has versions for mobile devices, it's so much better for the mobile user.

Sweet! This is a welcome and well-designed replacement for Google Maps for me. I've always liked Mapquest over Google Maps (even when I was ridiculed mercilessly by peers!), but I'd resigned myself to "googling" locations on my iPhone. I am redeemed! :-)

It would be really nice if iPhone incorporates a blue-tooth technology and allow users to connect the iPhone to a portable GPS and then use the maps with it.

I am also an Iphone user and using google map and I find it very handy most of time.

Actually, I never used mapquest to have a direction on computer and I never thought it could be better than google map. But I definitely will give it a try now on my Iphone.

I totally agree with you on that it is really much faster and easier if a site has a mobile version for Iphone.

Thank you Nathania.
