Google Releases Display Ad Builder
Following in MySpace's footsteps, Google's AdWords has released a display advertising builder. Now, you can create your own ad right in AdWords without hiring a designer (Sorry, designers!).
While advertising art may suffer (you did used to hire that designer for a reason, didn't you?), many people are looking for ways to cut costs during this economic crisis. So these new display ad builders are one way to do that.
Of course, you'll want to test those ads. If those professional ads done by the aforementioned designer have higher conversions, then outsourcing still may be the way to go!

Quick question - I've noticed that the option to "build" your own ads is only on some of my campaigns and not others? Do you know why?
I've seen that it's only available to US and Canadian advertisers.
Does the campaign have to have a certain requirement to use this tool?

Another master stroke by Google. They have been trying to gain foothold in the display advertising market for a while and what easier way to do it than to make it accessible to the smaller advertiser. It is how they have become so successful in PPC (aside from their algorithms) and it will undoubtedly unlock a large untapped section of the market for display advertising.

if we want to go the banner route later on our site, this may be a good way to create them.
