Google Chrome: Google Open Source Browser

Philipp Lenssen over at Blogscoped has a detailed article about Google's browser project including a link to a great cartoon. Apparently the rumors were true and the former Mozilla employees have been busy.

Its very interesting that Google has decided to take on a project like this. They obviously have such an interest in how people access the web, it was only a matter of time before they took things into their own hands. It is going to be very interesting to see how this pans out.

My feelings exactly........been waiting since 5 this morning, but still no Chrome. I would personally like to "CHROME" some google folks for leading us on like this.

"We are so, so happy with Google Chrome," mumbled Mozilla CEO John Lilly through gritted teeth. "That most of our income is from Google has no bearing on me making this statement."

I had heard nothing about Google's new web browser until I logged on to do some research. The link underneath the search box is a really affective way of marketing.

The browser works fast; a great relief from the beta versions of Safari; constant bugs and crashes. Looks like Google is ahead of the game; they are working to take the PC of your hard drive and put it in the 'www.cloud' Something that would save Microsoft and there bloated OS; run it online.

Chrome's performance measurements on our product (http://www.taskwriter.com) makes it obvious that Chrome has the quality of speed: it's a little bit faster then Firefox 3.0 and 6 times faster than IE. See the graphs here:http://www.taskwriter.com/blog/how-good-chrome-really-is
