Yahoo Acquires VoIP Net Phone Provider DialPad & Blo.gs Ping Service

Yahoo has acquired acquired VoIP internet telephone service provideer DialPad and the blo.gs ping and blog/feed tracking service.

Om Malik and the Dow Jones have more details on the DialPad purchase.

Financial info about the deal was not disclosed. DialPad provides PC2PC (computer to computer) and PC2Phone (computer to phone) service. Om says that Yahoo will integrate DialPad into their IM service.

Rumors about Yahoo talking acquisition/merger with Skype, another VoIP service, have been circulating for the past week or so.

As for Blo.gs, Jeremy Zawodny posts has details of Yahoo acquiring it for an undisclosed sum. He writes:

What are our plans for the service? Simple. Keep it running, make it scale, and make it even better (a lot like the Flickr plans).
